¡¡¡¡A forum was held recently at Qingdao Economic and Technological Development
Zone. Experts attending the forum raised valuable suggestions for the building
of Qingdao west coast core area of the peninsular manufacturing base.
¡¡¡¡Economists attending the forum gave lectures abou
t their research and
reports to establishing the peninsular manufacturing base. They discussed the
rationality, and feasibility of constructing the Qingdao west coast core area of
peninsular manufacturing base. Suggestions were raised onsustainable
development, environmental protection, human resource introduction and urban
planning for the development of the Qingdao Economic and Technological
Development Zone.
¡¡¡¡The development zone further clarified its development target as the
Qingdao west back core district of the building of peninsular manufacturing
base. The attendees agree that the development zone should seize the new chances
and make further efforts to building itself into the core district of regional
economic development. Last July, the Shandong Party Committee and the provincial
government made the strategic decision to build up the peninsular manufacturing
base in Qingdao, Yantai and Weihai and accept the manufacturing transfer from
Japan and Korea. As the new economic core of Qingdao, the Qingdao Development
Zone has raised its target for development as the . The development zone
currently concentrated the most advantageous resources for economic development.
Qingdao Development Zone has become the largest container-manufacturing base in
north China. It has fostered automobile, petrochemical and shipbuilding
industries as key ones. Focusing mainly on the 3 economic features of a large
port, marine industry and tourism, it is raising four industrial bases for
electronics and household appliances, petrochemical and refinery, automobile,
locomotive, shipbuilding and repairing, container manufacturing as well as new
material production. By implementing the strategy of shifting the economic
growth focus to the west band and stressing on the construction of "peninsular
manufacturing base", Qingdao continues to make new progress.
¡¡¡¡Qingdao Development Zone is a new economic center at the west bank of
Jiaozhou Bay. Backed by the booming growth of "around-the-Bohai-Bay Economic
Circle" of China, and as the core of the "China-Japan-Korea" golden delta, the
Development Zone is the main body for constructing the "four industrial bases "
of Qingdao. Here in this land, they have constructed a new modernized
