¡¡¡¡It was learned from the city¡¯s port administrative office that the foreign
trade transportation of Qingdao Port maintained rapid growth during the first
half of this year, the main indexes ranked the third among its coastal
counterparts in China. The imports and exports valued 26.3 b
illion US dollars.
¡¡¡¡Qingdao Harbor has seen a foreign trade transportation of 61 million tons
from January to June, increasing 22% over the same period of last year. Exports
reached 46 million tons, increasing 31% over the same period of last year;
imports reached 14.8 million tons, increasing 1%. The total value of imports and
exports increased by 58% to reach 26 billion US dollars. Exports increased by
86% to reach 12 billion US dollars; imports increased by 39% to reach 13.9
billion US dollars.
¡¡¡¡Insiders say during the first half of this year; the main indexes of
Qingdao Port have maintained a rapid growth. That was attributed to the rapid
economic growth of the hinterland and the being perfected environment of Qingdao
Harbor.
¡¡¡¡The port¡¯s foreign cargo handling capacity ranked the second in China, that
of the containers ranked the third.
